This year the Beermaster’s Classic visits South Holston Lake, a 10,053 acre reservoir on the Tennessee/Virginia state line. South Holston was created and is operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority just south of Bristol, TN.
We’ll be staying near Laurel Marina on the edge of the Cherokee National Forrest. The amazing water front rental house has a private dock with tree top views and sleeps 8-12 with a full kitchen and living space so even if it rains all weekend we’ll have all the comforts of home.
Total budget for the trip is $2,720.32 and includes house rental fees, boat rental fees, as well as food and adult sodas. This budget, for the 10 of us, breaks down to roughly $272.03 each. Not bad for a long weekend!
As we begin to venture further and further west on our quest to fish all 50 states, those prices quoted above are sure to go up — especially when flights and rental cars are needed to get to our final destinations.
